This is the Garabato Dance couple.
The queen of the carnival and the queen of beauty, participate in this dance against death in which life prevails is caricaturized. The Garabato dance traditional outfit is made out of silk and has yellow, green, and red as primary colors. These colors are the colors of the flag of Barranquilla. The skirt is long and layered; it has ruffles and a tight blouse with sleeves and with flared ruffles around the neck.
In the Garabato dance men wear a multicolor silk outfit with the colors yellow, green and red. A cape with figures embroidered in sequins complements the outfit a long with a stick with a bended tip (called garabato), the stick is used to protect each other and their women of the death that wants to take them away.
